The Holiday Island departs from Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island at 6:30 a.m., one of five trips the ship will be making until mid-June when the service ramps up to seven crossings per day.
The Confederation will remain in dry dock until mid-June when traffic typically picks up.
The service expands to nine crossings per day in time for the July 1 weekend and that schedule remains in place until the Labour Day weekend.
The cost to take the ferry is going up by $1 this year, meaning it will cost $71 for a round trip ($66 base fee plus a $5 fuel surcharge). The fuel surcharge is $10 for commercial vehicles.
