The (Prince Edward Island) bridge opened on May 31, 1997 and the fabrication was yard used to construct the components needed for the bridge. Part of the yard is being used as a maintenance area for Strait Crossing and there is a commercial business present, but the majority of the yard is unused and is returning to its natural state. Trees and brush are growing and beginning to cover what remains of the yard. All of the equipment was removed years ago and all that is left are the concrete footings, pillars and walls of installations used in the bridge's construction. From a distance the pillars look like statues and upon closer inspection it is evident that urban art has made its way to parts of the yard.
