Having grown up in one of Atlantic Canada’s most successful family enterprises, Rob has spent all of his life exposed to or working in his family’s retail businesses. After gaining experience throughout most areas of Sobeys, he took over as President and CEO of Lawton's Drugs in 2006, becoming the highest ranking operational manager of the Sobey family. Since 1998, Rob, who is a fourth generation family business member, has also been on the Board of his family’s holding company Empire Co. This combination of management, governance, and family has afforded him invaluable exposure to many issues a family might face in growing and sustaining a viable business.
