Landmark welcomes Pete's

Landmark Developments, headquartered in Dartmouth, recently celebrated the opening of its newest tenant in Wolfville in the Warehouse Mall, raising the community’s profile as a food, wine and retail destination for Atlantic Canada.

Pete’s is now open, joining recently launched Serendipitous Jewellery as well as the well established Annapolis Academy of Music, Juandaro’s Futbol Boutique and Valley Stove & Cycle.

“We are thrilled to be part of this phase in Wolfville’s growth — both as a university town and as a cultural centre for the province. It’s been a collaborative experience working with the Town’s Public Works and Planning Departments to see this exciting project come together,” said Andrea Becking-ham, chief operating officer for Landmark Developments.

This is a transformative time for Wolfville, adds David Hovell, executive director of the Wolfville Business Development Corpor-ation.

“The arrival of new businesses of this caliber demonstrate Wolfville’s appeal as an unique place to experience and enjoy a wide array of food, wine and retail offerings,” he said. “The cooperative nature of Wolfville, coupled with a vibrant lifestyle, makes this an ideal place to be enterprising.”

Pete’s opening coincides with the 20th anniversary of the opening of the flagship store in Bedford. Dianne Hamilton, chief operating officer for Pete’s, sees that the area is ready for a fresh face.

“There’s been a buzz in the Valley around the new store. Pete’s is a shopping destination within the HRM, and to have this beautiful new store in their own neighbourhood has gotten people really excited. The Town of Wolfville and Landmark Developments have been incredible during this whole process. We couldn’t be happier with the response from the community.”

The new businesses will serve as a draw for consumers from all over the province and will employ approximately 70 people.
