[LONG HARBOUR, NL] — Reports from the Vale nickel processing facility in Newfoundland and Labrador say there appears to be a mixed reaction to a union directive to members to go back to work.

Hundreds of workers have gathered at a parking lot leading to the mining giant's facility in Long Harbour today.

Other unionized workers however, have been seen entering the work site.

About 90 crane operators started their job action on Thursday and other workers stayed off the job out of solidarity.

The company obtained a court injunction ordering them to cease and desist soon after the walkout, which wasn't sanctioned by the union.

The workers say they're upset about their wages and the fact the company is bringing in foreign workers.
